First of all, invited talk on “Concentrating Solar System for Thermal Use” by Mr. K. Nakamura, president of Mitaka Kohki will be presented. After this talk, lectures on the following topics will be presented by AIST researchers: Thermoelectric Power Devices, Artificial Photosynthesis, and Hydrogen Safety.

In order to drastically reduce the CO2 emissions that causes the global warming, it is critical to decrease the energy consumption with more effective way, focusing around the energy-intensive industries.
Recently, based on the concept of the Exergy which means the available energy more and more attention has been paid to the Exergy recuperation strategy as the technology that greatly improves the process efficiency. In putting these R&D results to practical use, however, various barriers are just emerging.
In this workshop, we attempt to develop our understanding of the Exergy recuperation strategy with the discussion about the issues and its implementation on the basis of the practical cases, industrial simulation, science and technology trends, and so on.
